The learning assistance center was developed to enhance one of the most critical
aspects of the learning process: active participation by the student. The purpose of the
LAC is to facilitate simulated nursing practice, to promote critical thinking, support
remediation and to utilize advanced technology to assist in the learning process.
the Learning Assistance Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Learning Assistance Center is a well-equipped area that meets students learning
needs by simulating the clinical environment. Structured skills and competencies are
provided in conjunction with clinical practice under faculty supervision. The lab is
environmentally comfortable. Both faculty members and student can initiate a
remediation request for practice and demonstration to enhance specific nursing skills.

Work study students are available for issuing and monitoring the use of supplies.
They also provide assistance to the faculty on a scheduled basis.
